The Caribbean cricket podcast

Episode 5 – Dominica Devasted with Reds Perreira

Welcome to edition no.5 of The Willow in the WIndies.

Once again Reds and I got together to discuss recent cricketing events in the Caribbean. The hot topics in the tropics we covered this week included:

The implications of the devastating storms in Dominica;

We speculated on the West Indies squad to be announced for the upcoming tour of Sri Lanka;

We discussed the qualities of Denesh Ramdin’s captaincy;

The value of playing county cricket for Fidel Edwards and Shannon Gabriel;

The usefulness (or otherwise) of the WICB’s regional territory town-hall meetings;

What we hope to see come out of the upcoming report by Dr Keith Mitchell’s panel investigating cricketing governance in the region;

I asked Reds whether the retiring Michael Clarke and Kumar Sangakkara were ‘greats’ or just ‘very goods’?;

And I asked if we had seen the last of Shiv Chanderpaul in Test cricket?
