Midweek Edition: Reviewing the WIndies’ U19 World Cup Win with Coach Graeme West

Welcome to this extra edition of The Willow in the WIndies.

The thrill and excitement for me of seeing the West Indies young under nineteen cricketers upset all expectations (including mine!) to win the U19 World Cup in Bangladesh is matched only by a similar reaction to being joined for an extensive chat with their winning coach, Englishman Graeme West.

In conversation we looked back at the whole tournament; examined the competition’s key moments (including of course that infamous ‘Mankading’ incident); talked about what this means for the people – both players and fans – of the Caribbean; and considered how WI can build on this achievement in the future.

The interview can be heard here.
